Weekend Recap: City Farmer's, Snooze, People's Co-Op

Happy Monday, friends! Each Monday I plan to post a little review-in-photos of our weekend, accompanied by a recap on what kept us busy (or lazy!) throughout our Saturday's & Sunday's. I'm blessed to only work four days a week, so the updates will include my Friday activities as well!

Cheers to the weekend and we hope you enjoy!

I always feel like I have the most fantastic weekends. Mostly because it's the time during the week where Oscar and I get to relax together, spend quality time with Francois, and work together on crossing items off our to-do lists/fixing up the HIVE. This weekend we were feeling a need for a particularly unplanned/relaxing time, as we both were still feeling tired and worn out from the busyness of the holiday season.

On Friday I made a much-needed run to City Farmers Nursery, one of my favorite places here in San Diego. City Farmers has everything you could need for organic gardening and homesteading projects of all kinds- including supplies needed for beekeeping, canning, coy ponds, chicken coops, and more. Not to mention a seed catalog that will make your knees weak. With our TINY patio providing the only growing space we currently have, we've had to be picky about what to plant. Oscar's number one request was to be able to have fresh salads from the garden, so mostly we have pots full of herbs & greens. (Two of my favorite things!) On this trip to the nursery I picked up some arugula and five star lettuce mix and a few new canning jars. (Yay! Pickles coming soon!)

On Saturday we took advantage of sleeping in, with the only goal for the day being to enjoy breakfast at Snooze. And boy, did we! If you live in San Diego and have yet to go here, YOU MUST! It's local. It's fresh. It's divine. We napped during the day and wandered around downtown during the evening. Made our first trip to Baby Gap (found the most perfect, simple black, ultra-comfy cotton maternity dress, on sale for $15!), found a New York-style hot dog joint that serves veggie dogs (YUM!), and stuffed our faces with sundaes from Ghiradelli's.

On Sunday we started early with fresh juice, then breakfast in Ocean Beach at the ever-amazing People's Food Co-Op. It was such a brilliantly beautiful day- bright blue skies and being close to the ocean with my love. We spent the day laughing and running errands, including a trip to Costco for new pillows (YAY!) and a trip to Loew's for some fun upcoming project-supplies. We also celebrated 15 weeks of pregnancy on Friday! Feeling our hearts grow in love more and more every day for this unborn child. Constantly turning our minds and hearts to a place of thanksgiving and praise, we are so grateful to be.

Thank you for joining in the journey!
